17 ‘Bangladeshi’ infiltrators sent back from Assam: CM Himanta Biswa

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reported that Assam Police pushed back nine Bangladeshis and eight children early Saturday morning. This move comes after five Bangladeshis were apprehended for attempting to enter Karimganj district illegally. Security has been tightened along the Indo-Bangladesh border due to recent unrest in Bangladesh. Security has been tightened not only by the BSF but also by Assam Police personnel, taking guard as the second line of defence.
