2-yr-old girl stolen at Mathura rly station reunites with mom

A 2-year-old child who was abducted from Mathura railway junction has been rescued by the Government Railway Police (GRP) after a 10-month ordeal. Five people, including two women, who are part of an interstate beggar gang, were arrested. The child was kidnapped while sleeping with her mother, a ragpicker, on January 7, 2023. Despite an extensive search, the child was found based on a passport-sized photograph and body markings provided by her mother. The arrested individuals confessed to kidnapping six children previously. The police are now locating other kidnapped children and their associates.
