24-hour strike to hit 10k surgeries in private hospitals in Pune

Outpatient departments and elective surgeries were suspended at over 800 private hospitals in Pune on Saturday in a daylong strike organized by the Indian Medical Association. The strike, held in solidarity with the family of a raped and murdered doctor in Kolkata, impacted around 10,000 medical procedures. Essential services and emergency wards remained functional.
