The Delhi High Court has directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to hand over possession of a flat to the son of a man who was originally allotted the flat 25 years ago. The court found that the DDA’s cancellation of the flat allotment violated principles of natural justice as no notice had been served to the allottee. The court also noted that the DDA had failed to hand over possession of the flat as required under the hire-purchase agreement. If the original flat is not available, the DDA has been ordered to allot a similar flat to the petitioner.
