297 Indian antiquities to return to India from USA

India reclaimed 297 antiquities during PM Modi’s recent US visit, raising the total recoveries since 2014 to 640. The US alone has returned 578 items. In July 2024, a historic ‘Cultural Property Agreement’ was signed between India and the USA to prevent illicit trafficking of Indian cultural property.
