30 women fall sick after ammonia leak at fish processing plant in TN

Around midnight on Saturday, an ammonia gas leak from a burst cylinder caused by an electrical issue resulted in the illness of around 21 women at a fish processing plant in Pudur Pandiyapuram, Tuticorin. This private plant specializes in fish export and includes guest workers from Odisha. The affected women experienced severe symptoms and are currently being treated at local private hospitals. The Puthiyamputhur police are actively investigating the incident.
