61% Lok Sabha MPs possess assets of Rs 5 crore and above, says report

A recent report by ‘Prajatantra’ showed that 61% of MPs in the 18th Lok Sabha had assets over Rs 5 crores, and 32% came from dynastic backgrounds. The analysis indicated that local and party organizational politics were common non-privileged entry pathways. Only 8.1% of MPs defied monetary, dynastic, and criminal entry barriers.
