35 years later, former Indian army chief Major General VP Malik’s son Sachin Malik heads division he commanded

Major General Sachin Malik commands the 8-Mountain Division, key in the Kargil War. His father, VP Malik, attends the 25th anniversary in Drass. Both were in Sikh Light Infantry; Sachin’s wife is a military doctor. The division, now in Khumbathang, previously led by Maj Gen Nagendra Singh, earned three Paramvir Chakras and eight Mahavir Chakras.
