Tied to tree, US woman found abandoned in Maharashtra forest amid rain

A 50-year-old American woman, Lalita Kayi, was found chained to a tree in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district. She appeared frail, with mental health prescriptions and expired visa documents in her possession. Authorities suspect her husband fled after tying her. She was hospitalized and is now out of danger. A case is yet to be registered.
