Delhi cops drag away TMC netas seeking central dues
Over 40 Trinamool Congress leaders, including Abhishek Banerjee and Firhad Hakim, were forcibly removed from a dharna they were holding in Delhi. The leaders were demanding a meeting with junior rural development minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti. This incident sparked protests in Bengal, with roadblocks staged by Trinamool supporters. Abhishek Banerjee announced a march in Kolkata and vowed to continue the protest in Delhi. The police action was condemned by the Trinamool Congress, and Abhishek Banerjee compared it to the Singur agitation. Several MPs had their cellphones confiscated during the incident.
