Speed up work at Ghazipur landfill: Kejriwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to engage two more private companies to speed up the disposal of waste at the Ghazipur landfill. Kejriwal expressed his dissatisfaction with the progress of the project, stating that only 5.3 lakh metric tonnes of waste had been disposed of out of the targeted 15 lakh MT. The chief minister also visited the Bhalswa and Okhla landfills, noting that additional agencies are needed to expedite the work at both sites. The issue of voting rights for aldermen is currently in the Supreme Court, delaying the formation of the Standing Committee necessary for approving the hiring of private agencies.
