Pedalling its way towards future: IIT-H’s e-bike make its way to you on their own

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad is testing autonomous bikes or e-bicycles that can be summoned and reach users from a parking area on their own. The bikes are fitted with sensors, GPS navigation systems, and cloud-based computing systems. They can be summoned using a mobile phone or smartwatch application, and once summoned, the bike will unlock itself and travel to the location where it is called. The autonomous bike can be ridden like a normal bicycle once it reaches the location and can be left at a designated place to find its way back to a parking lot.
