Four arrested for duping businessmen of Rs 2.5 crore
A gang in Indore has been arrested for duping businessmen from Surat and Ahmedabad of Rs 2.5 crore by purchasing cotton fabric and not returning the money. The gang would establish credibility among suppliers by making timely payments and building trust, before disappearing with fabric worth approximately 2.5 crores. The accused used the names of their accomplices to register for GST numbers, posing as legitimate business owners. Four individuals have been arrested and booked for cheating and fraud. The gang’s plan involved securing GST numbers for shops in Indore and opening bank accounts using the same addresses as on their Aadhaar cards.
