Day 4: Tax officials search city builder’s flat for 18 hrs

The income-tax department has continued its search-and-seizure operations in Bengaluru for the fourth day, while the BJP has called on the Congress to hand over corruption cases to the CBI for investigation. The searches have included the flat of builder Santosh Krishnappa and the residence of BBMP contractor Ambikapathy. Former BJP MLA CT Ravi has demanded a CBI probe into corruption charges against the Congress government, including the alleged bribe demanded from sarod player Rajeev Taranath. Union minister Pralhad Joshi has also called for a CBI investigation and claimed that the seized money belonged to Congress functionaries.
