SC to test RS chairman’s power to suspend MP Raghav Chadha

The Supreme Court will review the power of Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to suspend AAP MP Raghav Chadha. Chadha was suspended after including the names of six MPs without their consent in a proposed select panel. Chadha’s counsel argued that the suspension violated rules and breached his right to speak freely in the House. The court has asked for a response from the Rajya Sabha secretariat and enlisted the attorney general’s assistance in the matter.
