NGT seeks action over Dwarka water samples
The National Green Tribunal has instructed the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to take action after water samples from 180 societies in Dwarka were found to be contaminated. The DPCC teams were also denied access to eight societies in the area. A report filed by the Delhi government stated that contamination was found in the samples due to the presence of ammonical nitrogen and total dissolved solids. The NGT has called for a report on the installation of rainwater harvesting systems and the steps taken to create awareness about them. The DPCC has been given four weeks to take remedial measures.
