A recent study published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society has revealed that Leonardo da Vinci was not only a painter but also an innovative chemist. Scientists have detected a rare mineral compound in the “Mona Lisa” using advanced technology, suggesting that Leonardo might have been the original pioneer of a technique later adopted by renowned artists. The study also found the same compound in another Leonardo masterpiece, “The Last Supper.”
