‘Sultan of Delhi’ actor takes offence over ‘sex’ label to scene depicting ‘brutal marital rape’

Mehreen Pirzada, an actor who recently made her debut in the OTT series “Sultan of Delhi”, expressed her disappointment that a scene depicting marital rape in the series has been labeled as a sex scene by some media outlets and on social media. Pirzada believes that this trivializes a serious issue that many women around the world are currently facing. She hopes that people understand the gravity of the issue and that they never have to go through such trauma themselves. The Supreme Court is set to hear pleas on the issue of marital rape in mid-October.
