NCR buses will need clean fuel from Nov 1

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has ordered that all bus services between Delhi and other NCR cities in Haryana, Rajasthan, and UP must use cleaner fuel from November 1. The commission aims to improve public transport services by directing the state governments to ensure that inter-city and inter-state buses are electric, CNG, or BS-VI compliant. Transport is a major contributor to pollution in Delhi, so this move is aimed at reducing emissions. The commission has also directed the procurement of new BS-VI diesel buses and the eventual transition to EVs and CNG buses.
