Devotees pay an emotional adieu to Durga
Thousands of devotees bid farewell to Goddess Durga on Dashami in New Delhi, marking the end of the five-day-long celebration. Temporary ponds were created across the city for the immersion of idols, while the Yamuna river remained out of bounds. Devotees expressed their emotions and reflected on the festival coming to an end. The creation of temporary ponds was praised, with over 600 ponds being created for immersion across the city. The government also provided arrangements for immersion and music, ensuring a smooth process. Immersion in the Yamuna river has been restricted since 2019 by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee.
