‘Democracy killed’: Mamata slams BJP on Mahua’s expulsion
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee criticizes the BJP for expelling her party leader Mahua Moitra, calling it “vendetta politics”. Banerjee accuses the BJP of killing democracy and not allowing Moitra to defend herself. She expresses confidence that Moitra will win the battle and return to Parliament with a stronger mandate. Banerjee warns the BJP that they may not always be in power and urges them to bear in mind their actions. The Ethics Committee found Moitra guilty of “unethical conduct” and contempt of the House, resulting in her expulsion from Lok Sabha.
