A-category rowdy shot at as he tries to escape from custody

A history-sheeter, P Thanikachalam, was shot and arrested by the Chengalpet police in Chennai after attempting to escape from escorting policemen. Thanikachalam, a notorious criminal with a history of 17 cases including murder and robbery, was wanted for failing to appear in court for a robbery case. While being transported, he asked the police to stop the vehicle to relieve himself but then pushed the officers and tried to flee, resulting in the police shooting and apprehending him. Thanikachalam was hospitalized for his injuries.
