Goa conducted its first dog breed census in October, in conjunction with the 21st livestock census, using advanced tech to gather precise data. The aim was to address the increasing dog population, which saw a rise from 52,323 in 2012 to 86,976 in 2019, and to develop breed-specific guidelines and policies.
