AAP rejects UPS, favours restoration of OPS

The Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab criticised the central government’s decision to implement the Unified Pension Scheme instead of restoring the old pension scheme. The union cabinet had approved the new scheme, which ensures 50% of basic pay as pension from April 1 next year. AAP’s MP Malwinder Singh Kang called the decision a ‘big joke’ with employees.
