Accused of assault by ex, IPS man torches house in suicide bid, held

M Arun Rangarajan, a suspended Karnataka cadre IPS officer, was arrested after setting his house on fire in Gobichettipalayam. He allegedly assaulted his live-in partner Sujatha, a former sub-inspector. Previously suspended for attacking her, Rangarajan had been residing with his parents since February.
