AFC Olympic Qualifiers: Japan steamroll India

In their opening AFC Olympic Qualifiers match, the Indian women’s team put up a strong defense against Japan for the first 30 minutes. However, Japan’s higher ranking and relentless attacks led to a 7-0 victory. Despite a 1-0 scoreline at halftime, Japan scored four goals in 11 minutes after the break. India’s defensive strategy proved ineffective against Japan’s wing attacks, resulting in a convincing win for the 2011 World Cup winners.
