After Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray’s party gets EC nod for poll funds

The Election Commission (EC) granted permission on Thursday to Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasheb Thackeray) or UBT to accept public contributions ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls. The party, led by Uddhav Thackeray, had requested the EC to issue a communication or certificate confirming its status to approve voluntary public contributions. A delegation from Shiv Sena (UBT), led by General Secretary Subhash Desai, met with the Election Commission representatives at Nirvachan Sadan in New Delhi to discuss this matter.
