Amit Shah counters oppn, says new laws duly debated in House

Union home minister Amit Shah defended the new criminal laws, emphasizing that they underwent extensive consultations over four years, involving various stakeholders. He dismissed opposition claims of forcible implementation, highlighting that 95% of their suggestions were accepted. Shah invited further suggestions to improve the laws. He also mentioned the incorporation of technological upgrades to modernize India’s criminal justice system, aiming to complete cases within three years. Shah expressed openness to discussing the Hindi nomenclature concerns raised by DMK.
