Amit Shah, TMC MP Sougata Roy spar over ‘Didi model’ to fight Reds

Home minister Amit Shah dismissed TMC MP Sougata Roy’s suggestion to implement the ‘West Bengal Model’ against left-wing extremism in other states. Shah believed no state would want to adopt it. LWE violence significantly decreased, from 465 police stations in 2010 to 89 in the first half of 2023, with notable reductions in deaths and violent incidents.
