Army Major sacked over security protocol breach

An Army Major in India has been dismissed by President Droupadi Murmu for breaching security protocols and compromising national security. The Major was found to have kept classified documents on his electronic devices and was in contact with a Pakistani intelligence operative through social media. The investigation also led to the discovery of a WhatsApp group with several military officers and spouses as members, who are now facing a separate probe. Some members of the group have received show cause notices for violating social media policies.
