Atishi to hoist national flag at I-Day event: Kejriwal writes to LG

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently in Tihar jail for corruption and money laundering charges linked to the Delhi excise policy scam, informed Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena that cabinet minister Atishi would hoist the national flag on his behalf at the government’s Independence Day function on August 15. The event, traditionally held at Chhatrasal Stadium, is where Kejriwal usually addresses the audience. The Delhi high court dismissed Kejriwal’s plea against his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation, citing justifiable reasons, and advised him to seek further relief from the trial court.
