Awareness needed for donation of corneal tissues to eradicate corneal blindness: Experts

At a recent conference, experts revealed that one lakh transplantable tissues are needed yearly to tackle corneal blindness affecting 10 lakh people in India. The Eye Bank Association of India emphasised increasing public awareness about eye donation and enhancing eye bank infrastructure to meet the high demand for corneal transplants.
