‘Bail, not jail,’ norm doesn’t apply to NDPS, UAPA cases: Tripura high court

The Tripura high court has stated that the normal rule of bail does not apply to cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The court allowed the government’s request to cancel the bail of three suspects in NDPS cases, noting that the NDPS Act sets stringent conditions for bail.
