Bengalureans, here’s your chance to help protect neighbourhood parks, lakes

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in Bengaluru has invited citizens to register as ‘Kere Mitra’ (lake friend) and ‘Hasiru Mitra’ (green friend) to help maintain parks and lakes. The volunteers will be responsible for tasks such as cleaning, de-weeding, and monitoring development works. They can also mobilize corporate social responsibility funds for the improvement of the areas. BBMP officials believe that this citizen participation initiative will greatly contribute to the proper maintenance of lakes and parks.
