Biswanath Ghat best tourism village of India

Assam’s Biswanath Ghat has been named the Best Tourism Village of India 2023. The village, located on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra, is known for its cluster of temples and its cultural amalgamation. Biswanath Ghat was selected after a rigorous evaluation process that considered sustainability, social, environmental, and community practices. The village has also adopted a community-based tourism approach, empowering local residents in tourism development. This recognition reflects the efforts of the Assam government in promoting rural tourism.
