Bolstering our fundamental Right to Life through Right to Trauma Care

India should recognise emergency medical care, especially trauma care, as a fundamental right to create a more equitable healthcare system. The current approach to trauma care in the country is fragmented and unequal, with disparities in quality and accessibility. Recognising trauma care as a right would lead to the development of a comprehensive system with standardised protocols and training programs, reducing healthcare disparities and improving outcomes. It would also raise public awareness and provide legal safeguards against negligence or denial of care. International examples show the benefits of recognising trauma care as a fundamental right.
