Cabinet clears 8 rail projects in 7 states worth Rs 24.6k crore

The Cabinet committee on economic affairs approved eight new rail line projects in seven states, including Odisha, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand. Expected to be completed by 2030-31, these projects aim to improve connectivity, reduce logistical costs, and cut carbon emissions. The projects will add 900 km to the Indian Railways network and facilitate transportation of essential commodities.
