CAQM allows diesel gensets for emergency services till December 31

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has allowed diesel gensets that have not switched to clean fuel to operate emergency services in the National Capital Region (NCR) until December 31. The commission clarified that all gensets must convert to gas or install emission-regulating devices by the deadline. The exemption includes elevators, medical services, airports, and industrial units manufacturing medical equipment. The CAQM acknowledged concerns about the ban on diesel gensets during winter months and cited constraints such as cost implications and delays in gas supply.
