Chemical engineer held in drugs bust

A Surat man was arrested in Aurangabad, Maharashtra by the Ahmedabad city crime branch and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in a joint operation. They seized 23,000 litres of raw materials used to manufacture drugs like ketamine, mephedrone, and cocaine. The estimated value of the narcotics and psychotropic substances seized is Rs 500 crore. The accused, a chemical engineer, had been running an illicit narcotics business for a month, sourcing raw materials from Mumbai and a firm in Kalol’s Chhatral GIDC. He primarily distributed cocaine in Mumbai and other drugs in Ratlam, Indore, Delhi, Chennai, and Surat.
