Chennai: Tambaram and Avadi corporations to expand from January 2025

The Tambaram and Avadi corporations near Chennai are set to annex a total of 37 village panchayats, expanding their boundaries significantly. Tambaram Corporation will grow from 84.7 sq km to 172.34 sq km, while Avadi Corporation will expand from 65 sq km to 188 sq km. The mergers are anticipated by December 2024 or January 2025.
