Chhattisgarh HC orders continuation of minor rape survivor’s pregnancy, asks state to facilitate birth and adoption

The Chhattisgarh High Court has decided not to permit termination of a minor rape survivor’s pregnancy at 31 weeks, citing higher medical risks and legal constraints. The govt will cover the costs of childbirth and provide adoption assistance if needed. The pregnancy resulted from a December 2023 incident revealed in May 2024.
