China formally arrests Japanese man held since March for ‘espionage’

China has arrested a Japanese man on espionage charges, according to the Japanese embassy in Beijing. The man, who has worked in China for two decades and was employed by a Japanese pharmaceutical firm, was detained in March. The Chinese foreign ministry stated that they do not have further information on the case, but assured that China will handle it in accordance with the law.
