China hails Muizzu’s win, eyes deeper ties

Following the victory of the pro-China ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) in the parliamentary elections of the Maldives, Beijing expressed complete respect for the decision of the Maldivian people. China reiterated its commitment to enhancing the strategic partnership with the archipelago nation. President Mohamed Muizzu’s party secured a super-majority in parliament with over 60 seats.
