China nuclear arsenal expanding sharply: Report

China has a rapidly growing nuclear arsenal with about 500 warheads and plans to increase it to 1,000 by 2030. The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists and the Federation of American Scientists released a report on China’s nuclear weapons program. The International Panel on Fissile Materials stated that China has stockpiles of highly enriched uranium and plutonium for nuclear weapons.
