Gurgaon’s air quality worsened to the ‘poor’ category on Sunday due to pollutants from farm fires and stagnant weather conditions. Experts predict that the situation will deteriorate further, possibly reaching the ‘very poor’ category in the next two days. The city’s last ‘poor’ air day was on October 6. Delhi also experienced a decline in air quality, reaching the ‘very poor’ category. Measures under the Graded Response Action Plan are in effect, including sprinkling water on roads and increasing public transportation. Stubble burning in Haryana and Punjab has increased, with this year potentially being the fourth most active fire season.
