Court appoints DM Varanasi as receiver of Gyanvapi cellar

District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha on Wednesday appointed district magistrate of Varanasi as the receiver for the southern cellar of the Gyanvapi mosque. This decision came in response to a suit filed by Shailendra Kumar Pathak, the head priest of Acharya Ved Vyas Peeth temple. Meanwhile, the request of advocate Vijay Shankar Rastogi to be included as a party in Vyas’ suit was dismissed. Pathak initiated the legal proceedings on September 25, 2023.
