Deconcretisation of trees: Govt bodies get Delhi HC deadlines

By on October 18, 2023 0 20 Views

The Delhi High Court has given the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) three weeks to remove concrete structures from trees in 15 government colonies. Failure to do so will require the director general of CPWD to appear before the court. The court also instructed CPWD and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to remove obstructions from trees in Vasant Vihar within two weeks. The court is closely monitoring the progress of various agencies in removing concrete around trees and will not tolerate further delays. The court has also asked for information on the number of trees deconcretised in the city and the steps taken to prevent concretisation.
