Diwali action: Delhi Police seize 1,500kg crackers

Delhi Police have cracked down on the sale of banned firecrackers in the city. In raids conducted by the North and NorthEast district police, around 1,500kg of firecrackers were seized. The Delhi government had previously banned the manufacturing, sale, storage, and use of all firecrackers in an effort to curb pollution. In one instance, a toy seller in North Delhi was found selling firecrackers that he had obtained from a man in Nangloi. The man was arrested and over 800kg of firecrackers were confiscated. In another seizure, 565kg of firecrackers were seized from a suspect in North-East Delhi.
