Don’t accept officials’ plea for transfer, writes Speaker

Delhi assembly speaker Ram Niwas Goel has requested the chief secretary not to approve the transfer requests of three officials from his secretariat. Goel stated that it is customary to consult the speaker before transferring officials in and out of his secretariat. He also alleged that the transfer requests were a result of intimidation and coercion by certain officials of the services department. Goel reiterated his disapproval of the transfer requests and urged the chief secretary not to approve them. The officials of the assembly secretariat were issued show cause notices in August regarding the recruitment of fellows.
