Eni profits slump on lower oil and gas prices

Italian energy company Eni has reported a 67% fall in net profit for the third quarter of 2023, due to falling oil and gas prices. However, the figure of €1.91bn ($2.19bn) was higher than predicted by analysts. Adjusted net profit, which excludes exceptional items, also fell by 51% to €1.81bn.
